Niykee is a songwriter who, despite her whirlwind career has maintained an ongoing routine. Personal highlights included her being picked by Snoop dogg to become his private assistant at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and discovers that a lot of them result in sparking ideas for songs. She states that she can determine if the beat is good in just 5 seconds. And then, a brand new song may pop up in her head. While I'm on my back porch playing guitar, lyrics will appear and usually are completed in less than thirty minutes. The pain of Niykee's childhood is a constant source of inspiration as she develops as a writer. "Even even if I'm not writing about my personal life it is the loss of my sister as well as my difficult childhood are incorporated into my songs," she says. It influences my music and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I want to be able to listen to my songs in 20 years and still feel proud about what I have to say.
